Country Music: American Kids

Chesney’s Summer Anthem

Kenneth Chesney’s “American Kids” hit number on country billboard charts and we’re unsure why it didn’t hit number one. This tune makes you want to sing along even if you don’t know the words (memorizing them as we speak). The end of the video features real American kids singing the tune and embracing the camera. Chesney makes you feel like the people behind the camera are singing with you. Plopped down on a chair in the middle of the beach Chesney belts out the country song as if he’s telling a story of your summer. His country music tune sings, “growin’ up in little pink houses, makin’ out on living room couches, blowin’ that smoke on saturday night, a little messed up, but we’re all alright.” Either you relate to these lyrics or you wished you related to these lyrics. This song is a perfect description of a wild and reckless summer.
