How to Dress Country: Feminine Fringe and the Country Boot

Fringe and Boots the Country Must

Handling a busy schedule full of work and summer fun leaves little time to plan an outfit. As country girls we just want to be able to throw on an outfit without hours of planning. Our days consist of bonfires, lakes, and anything else outdoors. At Country Habit we have narrowed down three essentials that will get you out the door in a stylish manner within a matter of seconds. The country boot, dress, and of course a cowboy hat.

Country Boots

From Carrie Underwood to Miranda Lambert, fringe is a must for a cowgirl’s wardrobe. We love the fringe look so much we’ve decided to put it on our boots. The fringe fad is here to stay. From the 20’s, the 60’s to now this style has proved time and time again it adds a fashionable embellishment. This kind of detail can be dressed up or down. Sport the boots with a pair of tights and a dress for formal occasions. Spend your casual outings in fitted jeans or a short skirt matched with the fringe features. These boots will always work on the ranch or out on the town. For inspiration check out the boots our style experts have in store in the Country Habit closet along wish our fabulous fringe shirt.

What are mashed potatoes without gravy? The same question can be asked about boots without a dress. Throw on a short dress and show off those stompin’ boots. Below are two dresses from the Country Habit closet that we’re currently crazy about. The dress patterned with daisies will brighten up any field you frolic in. Notice the lace border that lines the bottom of the dress as well as the neck line. The embroidered lace gives a unique twist to a classic summer dress. We’re also loving the flow of the dress. This baby doll cut will look flattering on every country doll.  Another flattering cut is the oversize kimono. The white lace dress with crochet detailed caught our eye. Many white and lace dresses are worn during the summer, but nothing quite like this dress. The bell sleeves will take you back to a 60s era and instantly make you stand out among the rest. Don’t be fooled onlookers, these dresses may look sweet but every country girl has their rough and tough side.

Nothing completes a country outfit other than the classic cowboy hat. Cowboy hats were first worn as a way of protection against the sun. Since becoming trendsetters (country people usually are) the cowboy hat has become a fashion statement. Anything with beads sign us up. the mesquite straw hat with beaded embellishments can make someone wearing a suit look like a cowboy. We love how the hat looks paired with a white lace dress. Plus, straw is always in style for the summer. Another straw item we love is our serendipity hat detailed with a dark brown stitch. We are digging the shades on our sedona hat.  The dual tones create a distressed look, so people won’t think you’re new to the country lifestyle. A cowboy hat is an easy and effortless way to add some of country to your outfit.
